Day 01 | Reception at LIM Int’l Airport & Transfer to Hotel
Upon arriving in Lima, you will be picked up and taken to your hotel. Our representative will give you a documentation kit with detailed program explanation. Luggage and hotel registration assistance will be offered.

Day 02 | Choice of Activities
Today you’ll select your preferred method of exploring Lima: the choice is yours!
Biking Southern Lima (Private)
Join the south beat of our capital. Connect to Lima and go over wheels by our districts of Barranco and Miraflores, experiencing with colors, flavors, and sounds that make this city a so special trip destination in South America.
Itinerary: Tour along the boardwalk and a snack time in Bodega Verde.
Roundtrip transfers to/from hotel included.

Tour of Lima & Huaca Pucllana
You will leave Miraflores and head to the Historic Center of the city of Lima. Upon arriving to the Main Square, you will find the Government’s Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the City Hall and the Cathedral. Here you will have the chance of photographing the impressive colonial buildings of this part of the city. Them you will walk towards the Pisco and Chocolate Museums, where you can taste and purchase some of the products. Afterwards, explore the Santo Domingo Convent, which was built in 1535 and still stands until today. The tour will continue in the modern district of Miraflores, where you will visit the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca archaeological complex that served as an important ceremonial and administrative center for the Lima culture, between 200 and 700 A.C. The site is composed of a pyramid-like structure, that has seven identified levels, which had different uses during that time. With a guided visit, you will learn about the huaca’s different areas and about its inhabitant lifestyle.
Enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening at leisure. Take advantage of Lima’s world-renowned culinary scene and ask your Concierge to make a reservation for dinner at the restaurant of your choice for a romantic night out on the town.

Day 03 | Transfer out to LIM Int’l Airport for Departing Flight to Cusco
The explora team will be expecting your arrival at the airport and will immediately transfer you in their comfortable private vehicle to the lodge. You’ll be welcomed at the lodge by the explora family and a welcome drink. From there you’ll tour the impressive grounds and learn all about the explora experience. You’ll immediately begin planning your activities for the days ahead.

Day 04 | Choice of Explorations
Today choose from one of the over 20 unique excursions included in your explora Stay. Bike ride over the Urubamba River or along the Inca tracks. Explora the awe-inspiring ruins of Ollantaytambo or a hike through Salineras, beginning in the charming town of Maras.

Day 05 | Choice of Explorations
Today consider a trip to Cusco that can be done as a more traditional tour or as a hike, crossing the mountain trail that separates the Sacred Valley from Cusco. Explore the iconic walls of the Saqsaywaman ruins. Choose one of our many Sacred Valley hikes for a shorter excursion. Bike through the pampas of Qenqo or indulge yourself with a visit to explora’s own Pumacahua Bath House.

Day 06 | Machu Picchu
In this full-day exploration, you will travel to the famous historical sanctuary of Machu Picchu, one of the most impressive architectural feats of the Inca civilization and a wonder of the world.
On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, the excursion includes a hike to the Puerta del Sol or Inti Punku, the gateway through which all the travelers that hike the Inca Trail enter. This point offers a different location from where to admire the sanctuary.
The journey begins at 7:30am, heading from the lodge to the Ollantaytambo train station, located about 45 minutes from explora. At 8:50am you’ll take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes. You’ll arrive at the station at 10:30 am and head to the bus that will take you to Machu Picchu. You’ll enter the Sanctuary at 11:30am. From there, you’ll begin your walk towards Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol, the ancient checkpoint to enter the citadel and the beginning of the Inca Trail from Machu Picchu. This trek is a 1.5 km climb at a leisurely pace and the difficulty level is very low. From Puerta de Sol, you’ll have a unique view of the whole sanctuary. We highly recommend it to all our travelers! After completing the trek around 14:30, we begin our tour of Machu Picchu’s most emblematic landmarks. Your guide will bring a light lunch to eat while you are there.
On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the exploration to Machu Picchu starts at 09:00, as it does not include the hike to Inti Punku.

Day 07 | Morning Explorations - Departure to CUZ Int’l Airport for Departing Flight Home
Enjoy your final breakfast at explora Valle Sagrado and, depending on your departing flight schedule, embark on your last activities at the lodge. At the scheduled time, the staff will wish you farewell as you begin your departure back to the airport in Cusco.
